The big debut!!!
Hey fashion friends!! OMG! today is such an exciting day for me and hopefully for you guys as well! So I have two pieces of exciting news (one maybe more exciting than other, at least for me lol) it is July, 15th!! which means HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me!! to those of you who I have already spoken to thank you SO much for the birthday wishes and thank you in advance for anymore that are coming! *muah*
Secondly as you all know from the last post this is the big day! The second collection from Deviant Attire; Out of Africa is finally finished and ready to be shown!!! I am very excited about this collection as I told you all already, I literally had to stop myself from making doubles of everything lol but there were a few that just couldnt help but to make two. With that being said there are three pieces that are truly one of a kind, not even I will have one. I plan on having everything up on etsy in the next few days. I will be sure to inform you guys when that happens so just be on the look out for that post. ALSO as a promotional plan I will be running a sale through my Etsy shop this upcoming weekend (20th-22nd) so keep an eye out for that information as well! It will be an opportunity to get some amazing pieces at a great price (for those who don't like to pay full price, such as myself lol) So that actually makes three pieces of good news right?:-) Below you will find pictures of the new collection. Be sure to also check out the current selection of Deviant Attire jewelry at Etsy.com/shop/DeviantAttire

Out of Africa: July 15th!!!
Ok so for the last few weeks since my last post I have been really tied up with work, this new collection and trying to get things in order for school, which by the way has been beyond stressful. Between dealing with life and going through prolonged periods of brain block my mind has been working overtime but the good side is my second collection is almost complete!!!!! I loved the pieces in the first one but I believe with this one I took more time finding my vision and inspiration making sure that every piece reflected that appropriately. I also feel that with this second collection my love of statement pieces is more evident. I did a lot of fighting myself with what people would want and if things were "too much" for them but in the end I had to make sure that each piece was created in true Deviant Attire fashion, Statement making! I will say, I have had to make two of each piece because I want to cover myself in all of them lol. With that being said I will give you all the story behind this collection and my inspiration images.
As you all know I am a HUGE fan of ethnic jewelry and African cultures and I believe I showcased that with this collection called Out of Africa. The main material I used this time was the cowrie shell which has alot of significance in many African cultures. The big one being a form of currency which was also a practice in china and even india at one time. The cowrie shell is also a symbol of womanhood, fertility, birth, wealth, and rank (when worn by cheiftans and higher ranking officials). I used this because not only do I love the way they look but they equate to wearing money and translating wealth and class, its almost as if you were wearing diamonds (a girls best friend lol). I also chose to use clay, porcelain, wood, horn, coral, and magnesite which I have mixed together to create some beautiful pieces some of which resemble traditional ones. If everything goes according to plan and schedule (which so far it is) Out of Africa will debut on my birthday which is July 15th! it will be available on Etsy.com shortly after. last but not least here are the pictures that inspired me enjoy!!

It is almost that time!!!!
Hey fashion friends!!!, I know I have been gone for what seems like ages and I am SO sorry. When I last posted I told you guys that I was playing around with the idea of maybe making garments and what not, well lets just say that plan wasn't so......... successful lol. Another one has been though! I mentioned working on some jewelry that was inspired by the images I posted in the last post and I am back to say that they have been a total success so far, I have created about 20 new pieces in the past few weeks that I have been MIA, a majority of which I plan to have on available for purchase on etsy here VERY soon, once I get everything the way I want it. I am working on some more pieces and plan to start rolling those out in the coming weeks. Below you will find pictures of all the pieces that I have created (new and old) and again most of them will appear in my etsy shop so I will keep you guys posted on when they are up for grabs! Until then I am off to get inspired!!
