He said he wanted FASHION

So I cannot even explain how excited I am right now, if you could see my face you would probably think i was a little crazy because I cant stop smiling! I didn't tell you guys this but I was given an amazing opportunity to style a photo shoot, and I must say I ROCKED!! don't mean to toot my own horn but hey if the shoe fits right?

My models name was Taylor Artis right from my hometown of Cincinnati, OH his look is dope,  Styling him was fun seeing as how we are pretty much the same size, he is just a tad taller than me. It was as simple as this; he told me the look he was going for and I put my spin on it of course I had to tone it down a bit and draw pointers from his own style but to my relief he loved everything. The day of the shoot I got to meet the fabulous photographer Debra Ham who effortlessly caught every perfect moment. It was extremely cold that day and I HATE cold weather, especially being so slim lol. But throughout all the runny noses, shivering, and being on the verge of frostbite the three of us produced great work. The only thing I would have changed about this whole experience is being able to photograph Taylor in the 4th look that I had planned for him but hey there will definitely be more to come and I can assure you this is only the BEGINNING.

She wore GOLD fringe...

Hey lovelies!!!
OK so like I promised you all I finally have pics of someone (other than myself) wearing my jewelry!! I was like a proud parent you guys, overly excited and flustered because all I wanted to do was show her off and take tons of pictures lol. My co-worker Jenna made it her mission to get a piece of the fabulosity and purchased a gold fringe necklace from my collection. She looked absolutely AMAZING the day she wore it and on days that she doesn't wear it for that matter. I must admit I was a bit jealous lol but hey everyone who wears pieces that I make will look FAB!!

Fashion Friday!!!

Hey fashion friends!! OK so today is Friday and I promised a friend that I would do something for Fashion Friday. Ill give you some back story so this post makes sense to you lol So a few months back when I was working for F21 every Friday we would have themed style competitions with other stores in the district called Fashion Friday where everyone would dress according to the theme that the district manager picked and see which store's team "wore it best". Usually this "theme" was one of the style sections within the store, because different parts of the store represent a different "look".

Me and some of my friends decided to do this our own way, we would pick our own theme and give a brief description on what you called your look, what inspired it, and where you got your pieces from, kind of like a look for less type of deal. We would then share our pics via FB and tag everyone that was participating that day, it was SO much fun. Unfortunately I cant do it like I used to because now I am much more restricted in how I can dress at my new job :-( but I was off today so I was able to do it for you guys! Hope you like!!

SO my look was inspired by Rick Owens SP/SU12 menswear line that I have been raving to you guys about. I took it a little more goth/glam than it was shown on the runway, and I must say I love that look on me. Of course the sheltered citizens in my town looked at me as if i had 8 heads but hey that's what happens when you live in such a close minded city. My camera decided today that it wanted to die so I had to take the pics on my phone so excuse me actually holding the camera:-). I did two variations of the look one for what I actually wore during the day (first) and the other for how I would change it up a bit for the evening as well as some random close ups.

Jacket- Thrift Store
Shirt- HM
Skirt- Thrift Store
Ring- F21
Cuff- HM
Shoes- Combat boots (Target), Platforms (Bakers)
Scarf- F21

Current Inspirations

Hello fashion friends!!, I feel like I haven't posted in SO long. I have had a lot of fun since my last post being inspired by all types of things like my own S/S12 look all the way to design ideas for new jewelry pieces as well as elements for my sleeve (which i hope to be starting next month) that has been in the works for about a year now. I will definitely post pics of the whole process for that one, I think it will be AMAZING!! I also recently made a piece for my first serious customer and she absolutely loved it! I will try to get a picture of her actually wearing it on here soon for you guys.

OK so as you know I am really interested in menswear especially when it pushes conventional gender norms and clothing styles. Rick Owens has really inspired to try the whole maxi skirt look so the other day I made a trip to the thrift store (my favorite place to shop) and found an awesome floor length pleated black one! and let me tell you I cannot wait to wear it somewhere, I will definitely post when I do. Another designer that has inspired some pieces in my wardrobe would be Hermes, the look of the collection was short shorts, thin turtlenecks, and gladiator-Esq sandals. The shorts were in a variety of colors and looked really good on the models. Even though they were shorter there was still this commanding Aura of masculinity which I loved. Of course I cant afford Hermes so I had to go elsewhere that being F21 and HM. I have a thing for leather so mine are cobalt and black in faux leather as well as pair of canary yellow ones from Banana Republic.

And just a moment ago I was turned on to a designer by the name of Marques Almeida, Who has made these pants that take destroyed to a whole new level! I personally think that they could be really cool if done the right way. Cassie actually wore them for her 106 and park appearance and they looked really good on her. Although they were showcased on women for his SS12 collection I think the right guy (maybe myself) could definitely rock them effortlessly. We shall see!!

The Beyond Fashion (Fashion) Show

Hey guys! This past weekend has been nothing but crazy hectic fun-ness << not really a word but we're going to go with it lol. Aside from getting ready for school to start this past Monday and working I was a model in a fashion show on Saturday called The Beyond Fashion Show, held here in my hometown of Cincinnati, OH. The venue I absolutely hated but none the less the two sets I was in turned amazingly, as well as a few others that I was able to see backstage before they went on.

Our stylist Allie Rose did an awesome job with both of our [models] looks, one of them was a 90's inspired look and the other was inspired by the Beyonce's "party" video. Accessories which were made by Angie Williams of Just rock it designs had me wanting to just die. Her pieces really pulled all of our looks together and made them that much better the "glass slippers" (pic below) were AWESOME! If you are ever in the Cincinnati area make sure you find her. The hair which was also crazy fun-ness was done by hair stylist Tyla Ward I so wish she could have glued a crazy Mohawk to my head, because being bald i missed out on the fun hair. She would have made it amazing I'm sure. Make up which was done by Alana Simone (who was also a model) was ab-fab, she did an amazing job with everyone. Another major player was Sydney Berry for keeping us all sane, on track and for the most part calm during all the craziness.

Both of my looks gave me club kid vibes which I LOVED and anybody who knows me knows I wish I could dress like that all the time;-). I was all about being able to walk on the runway, which makes me really nervous because I'm a shy person but it never reads that way. A definite marketing opportunity for me during this whole ordeal was being able to showcase some of my own hand-made jewelry pieces (necklaces) in both of my looks:-). Definitely stay tuned for more from me in that department as I am working on some things at the moment.
