Kassie's Shoe picks

Masaya Kushino
Hey guys! HAPPY EASTER! I am currently spending my Easter laid on my couch watching housewives and eating my leftovers from last night, yes I cooked my Easter dinner early, I got hungry lol don't judge me. Collard greens, black eye peas, cornbread, and baked chicken oh and don't forget the Kool-Aid  #yesgod!

Well lets get into why I'm posting today so a classmate of mine named Kassaundra who totally takes the cake for having a shoe obsession sent some pictures of some AMAZING shoes. Now anybody that knows me knows I am all for a kickass shoe be it a high-heel or a flat that just makes my heart skip a beat.  Her eye for crazy and wild footwear is definitely up there with mine. I have been meaning to put some of her shoe picks on the blog for quite some time now but never got around to doing it so here they are! I may be doing a spotlight on her choices every so often so definitely keep a lookout for them!

In the meantime check out The Virtual Shoe Museum for more from these shoe designers as well as MANY more by clicking the link below.

Its a right NOT a priviledge

Hey guys, I had to get on here and just talk briefly about the Supreme court marriage equality case. As you know the deliberations started yesterday and are still continuing now. I came across a very recent article from the Chicago Tribune (posted around noon) covering some of the arguments currently being presented, and I have to say they go a little deeper than I thought. One that was really interesting was "The question is whether the federal government…has the authority to regulate marriage" this is interesting because I feel that there are things that should be across the board and giving states the power to regulate this on their own terms will eliminate that as it is currently doing. Personally I feel that a marriage should have the same rights PERIOD. A same-sex marriage is not he same as an opposite-sex marriage.... VISUALLY but spiritually, emotionally, financially, they are and therefore should have the same opportunities and rights afforded to them. I could go on and on about my personal beliefs on this but I would really love it if you guys weighed in on this article and left your comments!

Sound Immersion

Antoine (red blazer)
Hey Guys! So as I mentioned yesterday in the beginning of my post I was about to start getting ready for my friend Antoines' event last night. I had such a blast and he did an AMAZING job. He performed in the Sound Immersion showcase held at a nice little spot in East Atlanta village called iLounge. I had never heard any of his music before even though we hang out almost religiously, I think partly because the show was coming up and I wanted to be surprised last night. Although he basically forced me to hear some of it the night before, it was nothing in comparison to hearing him perform live. Antoines' sound is Indie/Alternative/Acoustic. I have to say I was a little starstruck like omg is that MY friend? lol His set consisted of five songs; "Still don't know", "The truth", I'm still here", "Never Loved", and "MFS (my favorite season)". I really enjoyed all of them but my favorites were "Still don't know", "MFS", and "The truth". There were a few other performers some which really sounded good and kept the energy up. All and all I  enjoyed myself last night and cant wait for this guy to another show. Definitely check out his music and catch up with him on Twitter and Instgram.

A little give and take

Hey guys!! I had to get on here and tell you about my little second hand shopping experience before I start getting all primped and strapped into my outfit for my friends performance tonight. Ive been going through all of my clothes trying to get rid of some of this shit because quite frankly I have too much AND school moved me into a much smaller space than I had before. I heard about this little place called Rag-O-Rama here in Atlanta that buys, sells and trades clothes, I had only ever been once prior to me moving here. They have awesome merchandise, and its for the most part in really good condition. If you know me I couldn't fight the urge to shop around. I know, I was supposed to be going to get rid of shit not bring more back home, but I couldn't help myself. First of all they had an entire rack full of nothing but Sequined Dresses and Tops, talk about a fucking orgasm. I just wanted to wrap myself in all of it and parade around the store. I found some awesome earrings and a fly little summer shirt I also came across this GORGEOUS bracelet but somehow it got put back and sold :-(. The sales people were more than generous and gave me a discount on my shirt, SCORE!! Technically I didn't spend any money because it came out of the credit I was getting so no buyers remorse today. There are two locations here in the city one in little five points and the other (where I went) is in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area on Roswell road. If you are a big second hand shopper like me, you should definitely check them out!!

She was really sweet and appreciative ,although I'm sure people bigger than me have shouted her out, but who cares she responded to little ole me and that makes me happy! Definitely go check out her shop its AMAZE-BALLS, if I wasn't so damn broke I'd own everything!

These shoes were made for walking

Hey guys! I had to get on here and tell you about this amazing shoe store that I follow on Instagram called Femmes Boutique (femmesboutique_ca). They have some of the sickest shoes I have seen in a while. They have styles for everyone form the girly girl to the edgy femme fatale. One shoe in particular that I am just dying over is an ankle boot (you know I love a good boot) by a brand called ZigiNY called the Z JO boot that now is also carried by bakers (who has come back from the dead lol). It puts you in the mind of the Manolo Blahnik that was hot a few seasons back that resembles the timberland "wheats" with a six inch stiletto heel. This shoe comes in a few different colors some which are completely covered in spikes and will run you about $200.00 - $300.00. I personally love the camo ones covered in spikes, this shoe is sure to make a statement spiked or not. Check out the links below to check out more from femmes boutique, bakers, and ZigiNY.com.

The Bag

Hey guys!! So color blocking is still a big trend right now and I found an amazing color blocked tote bag at ALDO. Its a little out the norm for me because its not solid black, but I know it ll work for sure. This bag, which is called the Dironett is nude, black, and red which are colors that can take you seamlessly into all the seasons ANNNND it has GOLD hardware score!!!. . I am in love with the material which is a really smooth faux leather, the lines that it creates, the structure that it has, and that fact that it can be either handheld or thrown over the shoulder, I have broad shoulders so this is sometimes hard to find when looking for bags. another thing that got me was the price this bag was only $50.00 at first I did have buyers remorse but I thought about how versatile this bag can be. The red sides stick out like "wings" when you have things in this bag, it reminded me of the Celine "Phantom", which I die for!!. Overall I think that this bag is a great buy and I cant wait to carry it!

YES GOD!

I'm back!!! after another torturous quarter in this establishment called school and I have just one thing say: Long Live McQueen. I have been meaning to talk about this mini collection for A/W13 for some time now. Me and my friend pretty much died came back to life and envisioned ourselves dying again, wearing this collection. The silhouettes are very classic McQueen with a very regal edge. From the corseted bodices and exaggerated hips to the crystal masks and fishnets, this collection is LIFE! check out the pics below and tell me what you guys think.
